6:00pm Reception at East Village Theater- Reunion and meet and greet.
Food and beverages will be served
7:30pm Sara Childers will give a presentation on Camp McClellan and the prison
stockade. With questions and answers after.
9:00pm Native American musical entertainment
Saturday: June 8th
6:30am Memorial walk from the River up the Boulevard to the Prison location.
7:00am Spiritual service at prison location.
8:00am Breakfast at Lindsey Park, East Village
9:00am Opening remarks, introductions
9:30am Lindsey Park- Educational Tents and Childrens Native Storytelling
East Village Theater- Presentation on Camp McClellan Prison
11:00am Dakota Prisoner Letters Presentation Clifford Canku & Mike Simon
12:30pm Dakota Hymnal Singers
1:00pm Lunch
2:30 pm Linda Wagoner Winnebago History in the War of 1862 and at the Prison Camp.
4:00pm Future preservation planning and educational outreach of the history at
Camp McClellan
5:00pm Dakota Descendants - In their own words
6:00pm Dinner Lindsey Park
7:00pm Talking and healing circle
7:30pm Round dancing and musical entertainment
Sunday: June 9th
9:00am Spiritual Service by Dakota and multi cultural faiths.
10:00am Breakfast
11:00am Dakota Unity Horse Ride- Its history & Sept 2013 ride from Davenport to Mendota MN
12:00pm War of 1812 and Native Involvement by Preston Duncan and Sara Childers
1:30 pm Closing remarks, closing prayers and one last round dance.
I have some time here and there to fit others into the Agenda, Please let me know asap if you would like to speak or perform at the Memorial.
